How it Works
The All-on-X “Teeth in a Day” procedure involves removing any remaining teeth, placing 4 to 6 implants per arch, and securing a low-profile, fixed bridge for immediate function. The implants are strategically positioned—often at precise angles—to maximize bone support and avoid the sinuses, reducing the need for costly bone grafts and minimizing healing time.
Traditionally, All-on-X uses four implants with an acrylic denture on a titanium framework. However, at Cocalico Dental, we’ve refined this approach based on our extensive experience in implant placement to deliver superior results. We personalize each treatment plan to fit your unique anatomy, ensuring the best possible outcome. Your doctor will determine whether 4 to 6 implants per arch are ideal for you, then secure a custom temporary bridge the same day—allowing you to leave our office with a fully functional, confident smile while your implants integrate with the jawbone.
Am I a Candidate?
Most patients qualify for the All-on-X procedure, even those who have been told they don’t have enough bone for dental implants. By strategically placing a combination of straight and angled implants, your doctor can maximize contact with the strongest areas of your jawbone while avoiding the sinuses. This advanced technique often eliminates the need for expensive and time-consuming bone grafting procedures.
During your consultation, your doctor will perform a thorough evaluation to determine if the All-on-X “Teeth in a Day” solution is the right fit for you.
Zirconia vs. Traditional Denture Materials
Zirconia is widely recognized as the premier material for All-on-X restorations due to its unmatched strength, longevity, and resistance to wear. As a high-quality ceramic, it is an excellent choice for permanent All-on-X teeth, providing both durability and aesthetics.
One of the key advantages of zirconia in All-on-X restorations is its ability to withstand strong chewing forces without chipping or cracking, ensuring your new smile remains functional and beautiful for years. Additionally, zirconia is biocompatible, reducing the risk of allergic reactions or gum irritation, making it ideal for patients with sensitivities.
Beyond its strength, zirconia offers a naturally lifelike appearance. Unlike acrylic or metal-based options, zirconia mimics the translucency of natural teeth, delivering a radiant and seamless smile. Its smooth, polished surface also makes it easy to clean and resistant to stains, helping to maintain its brightness over time.
For patients seeking a long-lasting, durable, and aesthetically superior solution, zirconia is the optimal choice for All-on-X “Teeth in a Day” restorations, ensuring a confident and worry-free smile for years to come.

All-On-X Dental Implants Procedure Timeline
The procedure generally lasts between 4 to 6 hours, depending on whether you are receiving treatment for a single arch (upper or lower) or both arches (full mouth). By the time you leave our office, your temporary All-on-X bridge(s) will be securely attached to your newly placed implants.
You will wear these temporary bridges for approximately 4 months, allowing the implants to fully fuse with your jawbone while your gums and bone heal into a stable position. This healing period is essential to ensure the best fit and long-term success of your final, custom-designed bridges.

Frequently Asked Questions
After All-on-X dental implant surgery, it's essential to allow sufficient healing time for the implants to fuse with your jawbone. While you’ll be able to eat soon after the procedure, returning to a regular diet immediately isn’t recommended.
Right after surgery, you may experience some swelling, tenderness, and discomfort in the treated area. Following your dentist’s post-operative care instructions is crucial, including sticking to a soft or liquid diet for the first few days or weeks. This precaution helps protect the implant sites and supports proper healing.
As your recovery progresses and the implants become more stable, you’ll be able to gradually reintroduce a wider variety of foods. Your dentist will guide you on when it’s safe to start eating firmer foods and transition back to normal eating habits.
Recovery time varies from patient to patient based on factors such as overall health, bone quality, and how well post-surgical care instructions are followed. By adhering to your dentist’s recommendations, you can ensure a smooth healing process and long-term success with your All-on-X implants.
